What Is a 15-Yard Dumpster?
A 15-yard roll-off holds 15 cubic yards of material — roughly four to five pickup truck loads. It sits between the 10 and 20 in our lineup and fills a genuine gap: projects that clearly outgrow a 10-yard but where you don’t need — or want to pay for — full 20-yard capacity.
At 16 feet long and 4 feet tall it loads easily and fits most standard Tyler driveways. The 1.5-ton weight limit is 50% more than a 10-yard’s, which matters when your project mixes bulky furniture with heavier renovation debris.

Should You Get a 15-Yard — or Go Smaller or Larger?
The most common question from Tyler customers looking at this size. Here’s a straight answer — no pressure toward the larger container.
- 🍳Gutting a single kitchen — cabinets, countertops, flooring, drywall — and a 10-yard feels too tight
- 🚿Full bathroom gut with significant tile where a 10-yard’s 1-ton limit is a concern
- 🏠Project spans one or two rooms but isn’t a whole-house clearout
- 🧰Mixed debris — bulky furniture plus renovation materials — pushing past the 10’s weight limit
- 🔁You’ve rented a 10-yard before and ran short before finishing
- 🌿Large yard or substantial storm debris — more than a 10 handles, less than a 20-yard job
- 🏡Full home cleanout across multiple rooms or a whole-house estate clearance
- 🏗️Any roofing tearoff — shingle weight makes a 20 the starting point for most Tyler roofs
- 🪨Stone countertops (granite, quartz) — extremely heavy, will push past the 15-yard weight limit
- 🔧Kitchen plus bathrooms plus adjacent areas combined — debris exceeds 15-yard capacity
- ⚠️The $75 difference between a 15 and 20 is worth it when you’d otherwise need a second drop
What Does a 15-Yard Dumpster Hold?
- 🚿Full single bathroom gut — tile, drywall, vanity, toilet, tub/shower, flooring
- 🍳Standard kitchen renovation — cabinets, laminate countertops, flooring, appliances
- 🚗Large two-car garage clearout — furniture, equipment, shelving, boxes, general junk
- 📦Two-room estate or home clearout — bedroom plus living room, or similar scope
- 🌿Substantial yard and storm debris — large tree removal, major fence replacement, brush clearing
- 🪵200–400 sq ft of tile flooring removal — watch the weight limit at higher quantities
- 🏡Pre-sale renovation debris — flooring updates, bath refresh, and garage clearout combined
- 🔧Rental property turnover — appliances, furniture, flooring, accumulated items
- 🪨Large kitchen with stone countertops — granite and quartz are extremely heavy per square foot
- 🛁Large master bath with extensive tile walls — weight limit reached before visually full
- 🏗️Any roofing tearoff — shingles exceed the 15-yard weight limit on most Tyler roofs
- 🏠Full home clearout across multiple rooms — step up to a 20-yard
Asphalt shingles are denser than they look. A 1,000 sq ft single-layer tearoff generates roughly 1.5–2 tons — right at or over the 15-yard’s weight limit. For most Tyler roofing jobs, a 20-yard is the appropriate starting point. Stone countertops carry the same warning. Call us before loading significant quantities of either.
What Can You Put in a 15-Yard Dumpster?
Most household and renovation debris is accepted. A few items can’t go to the landfill under Texas regulations — call before loading anything you’re unsure about.

Where Does the 15-Yard Go in Tyler?
At 16 feet long and 8 feet wide, a 15-yard fits most standard Tyler driveways. Our truck needs roughly 60 feet of clearance and 23 feet of overhead height to set it down.
The Azalea District and older east-side streets (75701, 75702) can have narrow access and brick paving. At 16 feet, the container fits most driveways — but the truck approach is worth discussing before delivery. Tell us your address and we’ll plan it.
Hollytree, The Cascades, and similar neighborhoods in 75703 have placement rules. A 15-yard is slightly longer than a 10, so check your HOA’s container length requirements before booking. We’ll advise on footprint and positioning.
If driveway access isn’t possible, a Temporary Right-of-Way Permit from the City of Tyler Engineering Services department is required. We walk you through this at booking — not after the truck arrives.
